Terry and I had nearly three hours of conversation on the phone last night.
We met about 8 years ago and realized we would be working together for humanity.
But it was in 2011 that a deep spiritual bond took hold between us.
Terry is an exquisite story teller.
His own story is an enthralling one. And a very unusual one.
Terry, at 46 years old, is one of the most beautiful and insightful spiritual mentors that I have ever met.
He is writing a book about his life and "spiritual downloads" that he has received to help humanity during this important shift in consciousness.
Terry is not just an intellectual author. He is deeply grounded in spirit...from the book of life itself.
His book, when it is published, will serve as a sure guide, bringing many to the spiritual life.
-------------
But spirituality was not on his mind as a youth.
Please allow me to share his story.....
(This is a long story. For those who simply want a glimpse, please feel free to break away at any time.)
Terry grew up in Southern England.
Even at the age of 4 and 5, Terry was a handful for his parents and a problem to his teachers at school. That was disappointing to many of them, for they saw in him the potential to be a bright, conscientious person.
But that was not to be in his youth.
Aside from math, woodworking and games, nothing held Terry's attention. Even in those subjects, he would be disruptive.
He would argue with and throw things at his teacher, even to the point where they would hit him.
He would play little pranks on other kids to get a laugh from the class. He liked being the center of attention.
Terry was bullied throughout his childhood.
Soon, he learned to impress and befriend the naughty cliques of boys with bad behavior. In turn, they would help protect him from the bullying that always seem to come his way.
By the age of nine, Terry was arrested by the Police for the first time.
For petty things mostly, breaking into places and stealing little things, or small amounts of cash.
At age 12, his parents and teachers and some public officials decided it was best to ship him off to a boarding school for delinquents.
He spent three years there. But it didn't do any good as he was expelled when he was 15.
Terry ended up in 9 schools in his youth (5-15) and was expelled from 4 or 5 of them.
By the time he was 18, he had been arrested on numerous occasions and when to court many times.
Terry was not violent, but he could not seem to stay away from this life of crime and disruption. The frequent and various forms of punishment at school, along with many run-in's with the police never deterred him. Even the threat of incarceration by several magistrates was not enough to move his spirit or mind enough to change him in any real way.
----------
Finally, as Terry turned 15, a shift occurred.
It was decided that he couldn't continue with schooling.
He was brought to an engineering factory where they fabricated various components out of sheet metal. He was accepted as an apprentice.
Terry liked working with his hands and the journeymen workers accepted him as one of their own.
For the first time in his life, he loved getting up in the morning. He loved his job.
By the age of 21, Terry was an engineering foreman, in charge of 7 men who were twice his age.
-----------
Though the job as a metal engineer was a turning point of sorts, Terry still struggled.
Since age 10 he had been smoking cigarettes. At age 19 he began smoking Marijuana.
At age 20, he became addicted to the drug, Ecstasy.
At the age of 24, Terry quit his metal work career.
He had, what he felt was a kind of spiritual dream. He was actually half awake and half asleep when a download of information came to him about starting a record company.
In no time at all, Terry was able to open a little shop in his local town where he sold music records. He even had a recording studio during this time, were he and his friends made their own music which they sold in the record shop. Eventually he and his friends went on to create and promote live music events in London, Paris, Amsterdam and Hamburg.
But still, he felt empty. He would still make less-than-ethical business decisions. Things still were not right.
----------
Terry would enter the spiritual path through the door of hard knocks.
At 27, Terry decided to take a vacation to the Island of Saint Lucia. As soon as he arrived he contracted Hepatitis.
For the whole two weeks of his vacation he was bedridden. A nurse suggested aroma therapy.
Back home in England, the aroma therapy idea was explored. This was his first introduction to people of a spiritual nature.
Over the next year he had to stop all his drug and alcohol use. There was no choice. He feared for his life.
His body was so toxic that lumps and boils appeared all over his body at times.
He took herbal remedies. He fasted for 10 to 12 days at a time.
Terry spent the year detoxifying his body and mind.
---------
In 1996 Terry read the book, The Celestine Prophesy. This book helped change Terry further in a spiritual direction.
After 3 years of teaching fitness classes Terry travelled to Canada in 2000 to train to become a Pilates instructor.
In 2001 in Canada, he took another ten week course.
Back in England his Pilates career took off and he was teaching up to 50 sessions of individual and group classes per week.
In 2002, he was off to Canada once more to take 3 months of intense Pilates courses which would qualify him to be an instructor of other instructors. The plan was for him to come home and open a 10,000 SQ FT Holistic Wellness center with his business partner.
But it never happened.
It seemed that Terry was finally ready for God to become directly involved in his life.
During the first days of his last Canada training trip, Terry began to receive strong spiritual downloads of feelings, images and information.
Instead of going to his Pilates teacher training courses, he would wander the local streets of Toronto.
------------
For the first time, Terry found himself writing in a journal.
Somehow, as if it were a miracle, a conscious universal spirit had entered into Terry's consciousness.
He felt an empathy for all of humanity.
His personal journey had been a difficult one, but now it was helping him.
He could understand the nature of struggle. He spent his whole life falling down and appearing to fail.
Now, it became clear to him that there had been a deep spiritual reason for every difficult event in his life.
The fallen state of mankind was easily understood. It was his personal experience.
Specific images began effortlessly coming into his being. These were not cold images.
He felt them. They were full of love.
Images of babies taking their first steps and falling.
Terry would watch these images and be amazed at how much little babies and little
children would learn, each time they fell.
"No wonder children learn so fast!" he pondered.
He could clearly see in these images that were coming into his being, that children did not judge themselves. They did not resist the experience of falling or perceive it as any kind of hindrance in their way. He was shown that their innate ability to immerse with the experience of falling beautifully blossomed into walking.
Then he saw that the fall was just one example of something else that was happening. He was blown away by the deeper essence of this example. He was shown that this was an essential life nurturing guiding experience which manifests in our life in an infinite amount of ways.
The images continued. He was shown why and how this ESSENTIAL way of immersing ourselves into our life nurturing experiences was forgotten.
He saw that as children grew up, they gradually started to misperceive these essential experiences as something threatening. This aided in the perception of being separate...along with a deepening resistance towards these life nurturing experiences, which we’re now being misunderstood.
Before, the babies and children knew no separation. They and life were part of one continuous fabric.
Now, as they grew, these children in Terry's images would begin to see themselves as separate. Separate from their surroundings. Separate from their parents and other children.
Naturally, FEAR crept in. They started to believe that they we’re failing, making mistakes and behaving in ways that were BAD! Then a sense of protection and security from the outside world became important.
The processes of the mind of these children changed. As they grew, they naturally became calculating. Each of them created their own mental world, which they considered the real world.
----------
As Terry continued to observe these images, he felt a profound sense of compassion and gratitude.
A sense began to grow in him that God, or universal spirit, wanted to use him as a vehicle to help others as they begin to wake up to their own spirituality.
Terry became conscious that the perceived fallen state of humanity was something that was going to change.
He was being shown that a change was happening in the way mankind sees the experiences we perceive as failure. A change which would help it grow out of profound confusion and conflict, and into happiness, abundance and harmony.
Failing was going to be perceived differently.
Mankind would begin to learn to see failing in the light of a child, who knows no guilt or shame.
Mankind would become like a child again.
Like a child who only knows failure as an essential nurturing aspect of learning and growing.
Mankind would learn to flourish through embracing failure as a key ingredient of genuine growth.
No longer would mankind confuse failing with something it is not.
Terry was being shown that mankind was about to take a gentle but giant leap forward, simply by REMEMBERING how to embrace these essential, life nurturing experiences!
--------
2002 was a major year for Terry.
He flew back to England only to realize that one of his business partners would offer to fly him to Spain, to continue to remain in quiet locations, to organize this piece of work that was being downloaded to him.
This piece of work began to take the shape of a book that Terry would write.
After 7 weeks, Terry flew back to England only to realize that he was being guided from within to go to America.
By the end of 2002, Terry found himself in America. He traveled back and forth from England several times until it became crystal clear that the US was calling.
Terry has been living in Santa Monica, California since this time.
I met Terry in 2005. Brian Battistone met him some time after this.
Soon it became apparent to all of us that we were meant to work together.
-------
Terry will be sharing his experiences and simple methods for a beautiful shift in consciousness at the August Free Festival.
I hope you make it to the festival, to meet him in person.
He is a truly delightful man!
I love him deeply as one of our beloved soulmates and mentors.
