Blueprint for a new society

Blueprinting a new USA society is based on the idea that a major shift in human consciousness is now underway, towards a deeper understanding of our spiritual nature.

Before going into that, please allow me to make a few initial comments....

We are only just now beginning to conceptualize this blueprinting process.

The writing below is "stream of consciousness" writing.  It is informal.

Please be clear that the ideas expressed are primarily my own (Jim Martineau's) and some of my friends.  You may or may not agree with them.

This is perfectly okay and is actually good!  We need different perspectives to make sure we end up with a well-rounded blueprint.

I am ready to change my perspectives very quickly if I am shown there is a better view.  This is the fun of the process!

Having a growing number of "people of good will" give input is key to having a truly helpful blueprint.

We will all have different ideas.  That is good.  The fun part, and maybe the hard part also, is synthesizing them in a way that will work for everyone.

One of the fundamental ideas, that is shared amongst a fast-growing group of people, is that there is a rising tide of awareness, within each of us, that the truest and deepest nature of our own self is spiritual.

If this is true.....as this dawns on each of us, it will become easier and easier to come up with ideas for this blueprint that will work for everyone.

Soon, I will have blogs set up for you to share your ideas.  In the mean time, you can email me or call me anytime.

-------

Below are some "first draft ideas" that I'd like to share...

First off, I want our leadership team (including any person-of-good-will who wishes to contribute) to draw up three basic blueprints:

1.  The first is a blueprint of an ideal USA society for some future time when all people-of-good- will have learned how to get along in a much better way.

2. The second is a blueprint of our USA society as it is today.

3. The third is a blueprint or a detailed road map of how to get from where we are now to where we want to be.

Is it naive to think that something so simple will help lead to real change?

No, not if there is a rising tide of human awareness of its own spiritual nature.

As the awareness of this rises, naturally, people will want to help change society in a way that supports this new inner awareness.

This blueprinting will be something that evolves and adjusts as more and more people give their imput.

It is important to note that as we come up with ideas, some of them can start being implemented now, while others will have to wait for a while.

For example, a little idea for the blueprint for a new society might be to simply start sharing with others that all aspects of our new society should always include an emphasis on basic human values, like kindness and compassion

(In today's society, many of us get so lost in the difficulties of life and also the "glitz and glamour" of superficial pleasures, that we forget these basic values).

This is not an idea that has to wait to be implimented  We can do this now, simply by living and sharing these values; and by creating and sharing innovative ideas with each other that help "weave" these values into the very structure of our society itself.

On the other hand...

A more complex idea for the blueprint for a new society might have to wait to be impemented..

Perhaps this complex idea might involve setting up an online sytem which would allow a huge, volunteer contingent of citizens to help in the process of creating, interpreting and enforcing laws, rules and regulations.

For this idea to be truly effective, maybe it would take a tremendous amout of detailed planning and tesing.

This would be an example of an idea that would take time before it could be implimented.

-------

I provide the two examples given above to help point out that if we simply "get the ball rolling" on changing ourselves and our society, a lot can be accomplished....some now.....and some later.

I want to reiterate some basic points that I am proposing:

1.  There is a rising tide of inner awarness within humanity that we are spiitual beings.

2.  This awareness is going to make life easier for us as individuals and as a society.

3.  As this geater awareness "takes hold," we should consciously try to help each other. We should help each other learn to focus inwardly in order to establish this new awarness in a smooth and gentle way.  And we should help eachother outwardly by slowly and gently restructuring our society, so that the structure of society naturally supports this new awareness.

This website, our Free Festivals that we host , and this Grassroots Movement called The Transformation of America thru Love, are all dedicated to helping in this process.

It is as simple as that.

Your help is requested!

Back to more ideas......

The current systems of our USA society, that run within both the private sector and public sector, are based too much on the principles of fierce competition and "the fittest survive."

These systems have been necessary, in many ways, up to this point, given the situation of the "lower awareness" that has been operating in the minds of the people.

But, now that a shift in human consciousness toward spirituality is occurring, it is appropriate to slowly and gently start imagining and implementing new systems.

The old systems will not be adequate to support the new emerging awareness of the people.

This next millenium will be a time of happiness and harmony. We will need new systems for running our country, in terms of both the  private and publics sectors, that are based more on cooperation and trust and unity, and less on fierce competition, distrust and separateness.

--------

As our USA society becomes more aware of its own spirtiual nature, I foresee the emergence of two new trends:

1.  Cooperative volunteerism.

2. Money will be redirected away from the fulfillment of the excessive superficial desires....toward  projects that serve everyone in a deeper and more balanced way.

Volunteerism naturally manifests when people are balanced and happy.

Money will be more available for the public good of society simply because that is what people will value.

Everyone will still need to make a living to pay their personal bills, etc, but not so much money will be needed to satisfy excessive personal desires.

Why?

Because true happiness will be "welling up" inside of everyone.  The need to spend eccessive money on oneself to "get" happiness from the outside will decrease.

Once this happens, money and time can be used happily and cooperatively for the greater good of society in general.

----------

Competition, in its rightful expression,  is a beautiful concept that naturally brings the best out of everyone involved.

But in our current society, there is a tremendous amount of competition that is expressed in a negative way that needlessly wastes  time, effort and money.

No one wants to be wasting time, effort and money.

Cooperation with our time, effort and money is going to naturally come to the forefront as our society shifts into this deeper, more spiritual awareness.

-----------

Lets take a look at a living example of cooperative volunteerism:

The Mormon church.

You may or may not agree with some of the "stances" of the Mormon church.

Agreement is not at all necessary here.

I am simply asking you to look at the chuch as an example of cooperative volunteerism.

There are about 13 million members of the Mormon church.

It is a rich and organized and thriving church.  Everyone volunteers cooperatively. They seem to be a very happy group of people.  And nobody gets paid for the work they do.

From the propehet of the entire church, down to all of the local church bishops and assistants, nobody make a salary or a wage.  Every office holder in the church is a volunteer who makes his or her own living  in the private sector of our society.

This system was imagined and implemented by the Mormon people themselves.

-------

It seems to me that our USA government can learn from the Mormons, and many similar groups of people using cooperative volunteerism as a basis of operations.  It is inexpensive, it is efficient, and it works.

Cooperative volunteerism is a very, very powrful idea that has proven itself to work in many modern day situations where people in a large groups work in great harmony.

With today's growing spiritual awareness, combined with the incredibly advanced communication and information technology at our fingertips, there are many, many reasons to support the idea that our USA federal, state and local governments can start impementing some of the simple concept of cooperative volunteerism as a basis of operations.

This would increase the efficiency of our governments and, at the same time, lower taxes.

The private sector of our society, also, can learn to work much more from a place of cooperative unision.  It may not be based as much on volunteerism, but it can be more cooperative so that the money that is made can be used in a more balanced way that supports everyone in a more happy and secure way.

----------

As a happy, cooperative spirit comes to the forefront of our USA society, I foresee
many citizens wanting to "wear two hats."

One is the hat of government volunteer and the other is the hat of a highly cooperative private citizen.

When wearing the goverment hat, one can help oversee the creation, interpretation and enforcement of laws, rules and regulations that give our society the structure needed to truly thrive.

When wearing the second hat of private citizen, one can happily focus on working to provide the goods and services needed by society to thrive in a happy, secure and balanced way.

In a true democracy, the people govern themselves.  Everyone takes part in governing.  And everyone takes part in living and thriving as a private citizen within the "self-governing" system.

If done with a happy, cooperative spirit, the private sector and the public sector can work smoothly together to ensure the happy, well-balanced living of its citizens.

This should not be so hard to accomplish, especially if one remembers that both the private sector and the public sector are made up of the same individuals, who are simply wearing "two hats."

Again, lets take a quick look at why this can work in a better and easier way now, as opposed to what was possible in the past:

1.  First off, there has never been a time like this (in recent human history) when there is such a massive shift in human awareness towards its own spritual nature.

2. Secondly, there has never been so much advanced communication and information technology at our fingertips to help us organize our society in an efficient and cost effective way.

--------

more ideas....

I foresee our government reverting back to focusing on the primary tasks of creating, interpreting and enforcing laws, rules and regulations.

Once selfishness is removed from the minds of the citizens in the private sector, it seems to me that it will be them (the private sector) that provide the bulk of services to the citizenry.

Remember the idea of more and more citizens wearing two hats?

We the people of the USA are the government.

We the people of the USA are the private sector.

"We," the goverment,  will oversee "we" the private sector to ensure that everyone's needs are being met.

(In the areas where the government is better suited to provide services, they will do that.  Maybe areas like public defense, public parks, public roads, etc.)

----------

Obviously our society is not at the point where we can simply impliment completely new systems of operations.

But as the deeper loving awarness of our own spiritual nature continues to rise within everyone, we can slowly start shifting to newer, better systems.

---------

Another major topic has come to mind just now.  That is the money system.

Our current money system has some major flaws in my opinion.

Many good people are very deeply "invested" in our current moeny system, so change in this area must be slow, gentle and thoughtful.

But things in this area must change, in my opinion.

Having the Federal Reserve continually print up new money and not distribute it equally among all current money holders is not good.

It amounts to huge, hidden taxes being levied in a way that is not fully understood by the citizenry.

This system of "new money creation"  devalues the money in the hands of the common people.

This is not good.

As a society's goods and services increase, naturally, new money must be created to facilitate this.  It is like a car engine.  The bigger the engine, the more oil is needed.

New money is needed as our economy grows....this is obvious.

But the way the new money is distributed in the key.

Any new money that is printed should be spread proportionally among all current money holder.  Otherwise, the idea that money rerpesents an accurate value of goods and services does not hold true.

That is what money is supposed to be.....an accurate representative of the goods and services of the citizenry.

Also, the system of fractional reserve banking is not good.

Banks should not be able loan money that they do not have.

Fractional reserve banking allows banks to loan "ficticious money."  Then they make interest on that ficticious money.

Banks should only be able to loan what money they have.  It is unethical to loan money that exists "virtually" but not in fact. Fractional reserve banking is basically the legalization of lending "virtual" money that does not exist and then making interest off of it.

This should stop.

Please be clear.  I do not have a problem with "virtual money."  But I do have a problem with virtual money being created and used in a way that is not fair.

Banks should lend money they have.  Or save money they have.  That is all. That is what banks are for.

In 2008, a disastrous world-wide collapse of the money system almost happened.

It was avoided, but at what cost?

In our country, the Federal Reserve created massive amounts of "new" money  and the franctional reserve system expanded the new money by creating even more "virtual money."

All of this devalues the existing money in the hands of the people.

The bottom line is that the common people of our country are carrying an ever-increasing burden of a money system that is not a fair money system.

The money system of the United States of America is one obvious system that needs major change.
